Copy a verified trader with Echo
Echo lets you follow a verified lead trader so that when they trade, the same order is placed in your own exchange account through your own API keys. It is non-custodial: your funds never leave your exchange, you set your own size and risk, and you can pause or stop at any time. This guide covers the two kinds of leaders, how your position size is decided, how to follow safely, how to see exactly what an echo is doing, and how to pause or stop.
Understand what Echo does
When you follow a leader, Vecktor watches the trades they make and places the matching order in your own account. It is automation you control, not advice and not a managed account.
- Open Echo from the top navigation to see the verified lead traders.
- Read each leader card: their handle, a VERIFIED badge, a risk label, whether they are manual or strategy, follower count, and their Max DD and Sharpe.
- Understand the promise: only the leader's NEXT trades after you follow are copied. Positions they already hold are not back-filled.
Know the two kinds of leader
Leaders come in two modes, and they change what you choose when you follow.
- Manual: the leader trades in their own account by hand. You mirror their trades sized in proportion to your balance.
- Strategy: the leader runs a strategy and publishes only its backtest results, never the recipe. You pick a fixed number of lots per trade.
- Read the mode chip on each leader card so you know which choice you will make.
Set your size
How big your copied position is depends on the leader's mode. You set this in the follow window.
- For a strategy leader, set Lots per trade. Every copied trade uses this fixed number of lots.
- For a manual leader, your size is scaled to your balance against the leader's. Example: if the leader has 1000 USDT and you have 100, you trade at about a tenth of their size.
- Optionally set an Allocation cap (USDT) for a manual leader to limit how much of your balance is used.
Follow a leader safely
Following arms automatic order placement, so the window makes the consequences explicit and defaults you to a small size.
- Click Echo on a leader card to open the follow window.
- Set your size (lots or allocation cap) and the Protective stop loss per copied trade percent.
- Set a small size, then click Start echoing and confirm the live warning, which states that real market orders will be placed in your funded account automatically.
- Click Echo on the leader you want to follow. (Opens the follow window.)
- Set your size. (Fixed lots for a strategy leader, or an allocation cap for a manual one.)
- Set the protective stop percent. (Each copied entry gets a stop this far from its fill price.)
- Click Start echoing. (The leader's next trades now place orders in your account.)
See what an echo is doing
Every echo keeps an activity log so you can confirm exactly what was placed and why anything was skipped.
- Find the leader under Your echoes at the top of the page.
- Click Details to expand the activity log.
- Read the counts (mirrored, skipped, failed) and the per-trade rows: the action, side, symbol, size and fill price.
- Read the reason on any skipped row, for example a slippage band that was exceeded, a size below one lot, or no broker keys for that environment.
Pause or stop anytime
You stay in control. Pause and Stop do different things.
- Click Pause to halt new copied trades while keeping the subscription. Click Resume to start copying again.
- Click Stop to end the subscription entirely. Confirm when asked.
- Manage any open positions yourself on the Positions page. Stopping does not close positions that are already open.
